The node decides nothing now that the mapping store owns naming, and keeping
it would leave two sources of truth free to disagree.
Existing bindings are carried into the store by matching each hw-id against
the permanent address of the hardware present, so a box named by an older
release keeps exactly the names it had. Entries whose hardware is absent are
skipped - the configuration may well originate from another machine. The
hardware address of an interface is now read off the device rather than from
the configuration.

target
A mirror or redirect target could be deleted while another interface
still pointed at it. The commit was accepted, but after save and reboot
the source interface failed verification and its whole configuration
was dropped.
Mirror ingress, mirror egress and redirect now take part in the interface
reverse-dependency check, so deleting a target that is still in use now
fails at commit time. Deleting it together with every interface that
points at it still succeeds.

Add cases for which a config mode script calls verify_interface_exists,
excluding those of dynamic_interface_pattern, to be handled separately.
The dependency verification raises error, resp., gives a warning, when
verify_interface_exists is called with warning_only=False, resp., True.
These are the critical cases that motivated the original design, for if
a removal of an interface is allowed, a subsequent reboot will raise
ConfigError on config load and invalidate the config subtree for that
component.

Turns out commit b124f0b3b ("interface: T4627: support IPv6 Interface
Identifier (token) for SLAAC") uncovered a wrong assumption in VyOS that every
interface type in use always supports SLAAC and IPv6-ND (neighbor discovery).
This is not true for WireGuard, Tunnel and VTI interfaces, thus do not provide
that CLI option. In addition SLAAC support should be removed for those interface
types in a future PR.

Add common IPv6 CLI option (use ethernet as example):
set interfaces ethernet eth0 ipv6 address interface-identifier

set `default-route-distance` to 1

When all the underlay links go down the PE no longer has access to the VxLAN
+overlay.
To prevent blackholing of traffic the server/ES links are protodowned on the PE.
A link can be setup for uplink tracking via the following configuration:
set interfaces ethernet eth0 evpn uplink

Add abiilty to change `base_reachable_time_ms` option
/proc/sys/net/ipv6/neigh/{ifname}/base_reachable_time_ms
|

In order to lower the Ethernet default MTU we need to drop the common
defaultValue from the XML mtu-68-16000.xml.i building block. Per interface
default MTU is later overloaded by XML.

Linux bridge uses EtherType 0x8100 by default. In some scenarios, an EtherType
value of 0x88A8 is required.
Reusing CLI command from VIF-S (QinQ) interfaces:
set interfaces bridge br0 protocol 802.1ad

The DUID regex was missing a lower bound, which could cause it not to
match when it should.
We have to specify the lower bound explicitly as 0 to keep the regex
behavior similar to that in Python (in Python, omitting the lower bound
is equivalent to specifying 0).
|
|
|
|
Refactor DUID XML definition in conf-mode to be reusable. Additionally, remove
explicit call to a separate validator `ipv6-duid` and inline the regex into the
XML definition.
|
|
Example:
set interfaces ethernet eth0 dhcp-options user-class VyOS
or
set interfaces ethernet eth0 dhcp-options user-class 56:79:4f:53
|
|
The string data type specifies either an NVT ASCII string enclosed in double
quotes, or a series of octets specified in hexadecimal, separated by colons.
For example:
set interfaces ethernet eth0 dhcp-options client-id CLIENT-FOO
or
set interfaces ethernet eth0 dhcp-options client-id 43:4c:49:45:54:2d:46:4f:4f
As of now there was no input validation performed.

wifi: T5491: allow white-/blacklisting station MAC addresses for security
|
|
T5447: Initial support for MACsec static keys
|
|
|
|
Station MAC address-based authentication means:
* 'allow' accept all clients except the one on the deny list
* 'deny' accept only clients listed on the accept list
New CLI commands:
* set interfaces wireless wlan0 security station-address mode <accept|deny>
* set interfaces wireless wlan0 security station-address accept mac <mac>
* set interfaces wireless wlan0 security station-address deny mac <mac>

wireguard: T5409: Added 'set interfaces wireguard wgX threaded'
|
|
Using threaded as CLI node is a very deep term used by kernel threads. To make
this more understandable to users, rename the node to per-client-thread.
It's also not necessary to test if any one peer is configured and probing if
the option is set. There is a base test which requires at least one peer
to be configured.

setting

This is only a cosmetic change so that the default value is properly retrieved
from the defaultValue XML node.

Container registry CLI node changed from leafNode to tagNode with the same
defaults. In addition we can now configure an authentication option per
registry.

This fixes a regressin introduced in commit e22e9c9210cb5 ("wwan: T3622: add
constraint for username/password CLI nodes").

sstp-client

- Username is up to 128 alphanumerical characters, -, _, #, and @
- Password is limited to ASCII characters only, with a total lenght of 128

No need to have two distinct include blocks as one superseeds the other. Also
this makes the entire behavior of "description" CLI node simpler.
