- Remove fallback 'oidc-client' identity - tokens without sub/client_id
are now rejected
- Suppress OIDC validation error details from stdout
- Cache discovered JWKS URI back to session to avoid per-request discovery
- token_op now accepts X-API-Key header alongside form field
- Reset REST/OIDC session attributes on SIGHUP reload to prevent stale
config persisting after nodes are removed
|
|
- Use OpenID Connect discovery (/.well-known/openid-configuration) to
resolve JWKS URI when jwks-url is not explicitly configured
- Add optional audience validation via new oidc audience config node
- Require exp claim in OIDC tokens
- Reject jwks-url without issuer at commit time
|
|
Add support for validating OIDC Bearer tokens issued by external identity
providers (Keycloak, Azure AD, Okta, Vault, etc.) against the configured
JWKS endpoint.
Configuration:
set service https api rest authentication oidc issuer <url>
set service https api rest authentication oidc jwks-url <url>
If jwks-url is not set, it is derived from the issuer URL using the
standard OpenID Connect discovery path.
Auth priority: mTLS -> VyOS JWT -> OIDC -> API key
|
|
- Make ApiModel.key optional to allow Bearer/X-API-Key/mTLS auth
without requiring a dummy key field in the request body
- Add thread safety to REST token secret initialization
- Cast rest_token_exp and rest_secret_len to int on load
- Use defensive dict.get() for authentication config access
|
|
Add JWT Bearer token support to the REST API, as an additional
authentication method alongside the existing form-field key and
X-API-Key header.
- New POST /token endpoint mints a JWT for a valid API key
- auth_required() accepts Authorization: Bearer <token> alongside
existing key/X-API-Key auth
- New config nodes: service https api rest authentication
{expiration, secret-length} (defaults: 3600s / 32 bytes)
- REST tokens use an independent signing secret from GraphQL's,
since GraphQL may not be enabled on all deployments and the two
subsystems have different expiry requirements
- nginx location regex updated to allow /token
- service_https.py default-value merge generalized to also apply
to the rest node, not just graphql, so REST authentication
defaults populate correctly on commit

The legal team says years are not necessary so we can go ahead with it, since
it will simplify backporting.
Automatically removed using: git ls-files | grep -v libvyosconfig | xargs sed -i -E \
's/^# Copyright (19|20)[0-9]{2}(-[0-9]{4})? VyOS maintainers.*/# Copyright VyOS maintainers and contributors <maintainers@vyos.io>/g'
In addition we will error-out during "make" if someone re-adds a legacy
copyright notice

Avoid duplicate entries in the list of routes when adding/deleting
endpoints.
|
|
The GraphQL API was implemented as an addition to the existing REST API.
As there is no necessary dependency, separate the initialization of the
respective endpoints. Factor out the REST Pydantic models and FastAPI
routes for symmetry and clarity.

Configuration error output is not returned in full to the http-api when
running under vyos-configd, due to an early implementation 'workaround'
of vyos-configd writing directly to the session tty. This is corrected
to return all ambient stdout (notably vyos.base.Warning) and error
messages directly to the originating caller, which may be from a session
tty or a ConfigSession instance. As the http-api runs in the latter
case, the full output is returned.

Package path/section data in single command containing a tree (dict) of
section paths and the accompanying config data. This drops the call to
get_config_dict and the need for a list of commands in request.

We have not seen the adoption of the https virtual-host CLI option.
What it did?
* Create multiple webservers each listening on a different IP/port
(but in the same VRF)
* All webservers shared one common document root
* All webservers shared the same SSL certificates
* All webservers could have had individual allow-client configurations
* API could be enabled for a particular virtual-host but was always enabled on
the default host
This configuration tried to provide a full webserver via the CLI but VyOS is a
router and the Webserver is there for an API or to serve files for a local-ui.
Changes
Remove support for virtual-hosts as it's an incomplete and thus mostly useless
"thing". Migrate all allow-client statements to one top-level allow statement.

Add ability to reboot and poweroff the system via API
curl -k --location --request POST 'https://vyos/reboot' \
--form data='{"op": "reboot", "path": ["now"]}' \
--form key='apikey'
curl -k --location --request POST 'https://vyos/poweroff' \
--form data='{"op": "poweroff", "path": ["now"]}' \

Why: Smoketests fail as they can not establish IPv6 connection to uvicorn
backend server.
https://github.com/vyos/vyos-1x/pull/2481 added a bunch of new smoketests.
While debugging those failing, it was uncovered, that uvicorn only listens on
IPv4 connections
vyos@vyos# netstat -tulnp | grep 8080
(Not all processes could be identified, non-owned process info
will not be shown, you would have to be root to see it all.)
tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:8080 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN -
As the CLI already has an option to move the API communication from an IP to a
UNIX domain socket, the best idea is to make this the default way of
communication, as we never directly talk to the API server but rather use the
NGINX reverse proxy.
